Lucknow, Jun 26 (PTI) Slaughter of an animal during a
religious function sparked tension in Kadar Chowk area in
Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district today, police said.
Ten persons were arrested in connection with the
incident, ADGP, Law and Order, Jagmohan Yadav said.
Tension ran high in the area as members of a particular
community objected to slaughter of the animal, he said.
Security had been beefed up in the trouble-torn area to
ward off any law and order problem.
